Urban Development and Design Competition

As a means of quality assurance in subsidised housing construction, the Vienna Land Provision and Urban Renewal Fund (WBSF) holds public urban design competitions for large-scale development projects (i.e. projects from approx. 200-300 dwellings). The individual competitions are focused on different aspects of urban development and design. The practical feasibility and efficiency of RUMBA in multi-storey housing was assessed in a special urban development and design competition on ~Sustainable Construction Site Management~ using the three-pillar approach that takes into account criteria of planning quality, economic feasibility and ecological sustainability.

General information on the urban development competition is available at the WBSF homepage.

Urban Development and Design Competition was completed in July 2004. The documents are already available for download from the RUMBA web pages.
